In 1982 Malcolm Fletcher walked away from 10 years
of regular practice and involvement in the
Transcendental Meditation movement or TM as it
is commonly known.
He was a fully qualified TM instructor and had been
personally trained by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the TM founder,
in Switzerland in 1973.
As time went by it became clear to him during his
own daily meditation that using an object to focus the
mind (in TM they use a mantra) actually holds the mind back and prevents it
from slipping into the final and deepest level of meditation. Samadhi: The blissful state of pure, unbounded awareness.
Over the next two years this insight gradually evolved into a uniquely streamlined
form of meditation. A simplified yet profoundly effective technique that
Malcolm and his wife Tracey have now been practicing for the last 25 years.
They feel that Streamline Meditation brings a uniquely, fresh approach
to this ancient practice and is ideally suited to modern life.
